CAPTIVA'S PIXEL TRANSLATIONS INTEGRATES BARCODE TECHNOLOGY FROM PEGASUS IMAGING INTO PIXTOOLS TOOLKITS |
| TAMPA, FL, March 26, 2003 - Pegasus Imaging Corporation, a leader in digital imaging technology, today announced a partnership with Pixel Translations, a division of Captiva Software Corporation, to license Pegasus Imaging's barcode technology. Pixel Translations will use Pegasus Imaging's SmartScan Xpress Barcode toolkit to add one and two-dimensional barcode reading capabilities to its PixTools® toolkits. Smartscan Xpress Barcode is a managed .NET, COM and ActiveX software development toolkit. Pixel Translations chose Pegasus Imaging after challenging the company's technology, development team, and support team during a rigorous multi-month selection process. Pegasus Imaging has recently devoted scientific and development resources to enhance numerous technologies included within the SmartScan Xpress Barcode toolkit, including its speed, accuracy, and image clean up. "We chose SmartScan Xpress Barcode because of the reliability and accuracy of its engine, as well as Pegasus Imaging's commitment to support and solving imaging challenges," said Jim Vickers, General Manager of Pixel Translations. Creating software to integrate scanners, printers and displays into an imaging system can require a considerable investment of engineering resources.
