PICTOOLS™ REALIGNED FOR PEGASUS IMAGING TARGET MARKETS |
| TAMPA, FL, April 21, 2006 – Pegasus Imaging today announces its PICTools™ product line has been realigned to serve its customers better. PICTools software development kits (SDKs) contain low-level C libraries offering advanced image compression, decompression, and editing. The PICTools SDKs are now more strategically organized by technologies typically used in similar applications, including medical imaging, photo imaging, and document imaging. New feature sets spurred the efforts into this restructuring because they specifically met defined market needs. Today, the company is releasing a full set of document image cleanup features for PICTools Document. To support photo imaging customers, Camera RAW file support and newly released automatic color adjustment have been added to PICTools Photo. The new PICTools MedX kit now includes JPEG 2000 / JPIP, and JPEG-LS file support. The features of past PICTools editions have been phased into this new structure. All features have been retained. The main PICTools product page contains a feature comparison matrix and a brief description of each edition. Each individual product page contains more information specific to that edition.
