Outback Imaging is a leading Australian developer and supplier of document scanning solutions. Our products enable our clients to substantially slash the cost of deploying document-scanning solutions for unstructured documents. We specialize in building scanning and conversion applications that capture and convert unstructured documents into a variety of output file formats. We needed an imaging toolkit that: - Was easy to program with - Handled a variety of input file formats - Included a fully featured document viewer - Included image cleanup and enhancement functions - Was robust and reliable - Didn't have an outrageous SDK price - Didn't have outrageous runtime royalty costs During our toolkit evaluation we tested 3 Imaging Toolkits including Pegasus Imaging's ImagXpress Professional. We built the same sample application using each toolkit. We ranked each toolkit on its ease of use and functionality. Pegasus was the best of those we tested. In addition to the performance, their pricing for the SDK and the runtime royalties was extremely competitive. Since 1998, we have been using Pegasus Imaging's SDK's (ImagXpress) and have been continually impressed with the high standard of after sales support delivered by Pegasus Support Team. They have always been quick to solve our issues (usually within 24 hours). This is outstanding, considering that we are on the other side of the world in Australia. When we needed to extend our application to include barcode support (using SmartScan Xpress Barcode) they not only provided us with access to the new toolkit for evaluation purposes but they also provided us with sensible purchase options for runtime royalties. We are in the process of designing our latest EzeScan Handprint Recognition module (EzeScan ICR). We are evaluating the Pegasus ICR modules for inclusion in our module. Once again Pegasus has been very helpful with our programming questions relating to ICR functionality. We have been extremely pleased with our Pegasus products and will continue to work with them. |
