| It’s often a lot easier to collect images of documents than their actual source files. Many businesses receive thousands of FAXes, or scan millions of pages, without any available method to obtain the original files from which those documents originated. As long as these remain as uninterpreted images, your workflow is completely limited to human processing. Segmentation processing locates areas of text for OCR, while separately preserving color or bitonal images for reinsertion back into the final document. You can access each segment programmatically, or create a formatted output document consisting of text and images.  While deskew corrects minor rotation errors typically caused during document scanning, auto rotation can correct documents that are scanned upside down or rotated 90 degrees in either direction. Auto rotation uses text recognition results to determine the proper orientation of the entire image.
