| Current image-coding technology makes widespread use of data transforms such as the Discrete Cosine Transform (JPEG) or wavelet transforms (JPEG 2000) in addition to color-component transforms. Pegasus Imaging's innovative eidochromatic transform allows the wavelet transform and color-component transform to reinforce each other for improved coding of color images. Pegasus' proprietary JPEG 2000 variant incorporating the eidochromatic transforms allows files to be compressed from 10% or even 20% smaller with no loss in quality. This technology is the subject of a pending patent.
